Jazz at LBJ
Jazz at LBJ and LASA high schools brings together the tradition and creativity of a uniquely American art form and couples all that with the talent and individuality of LBJ/LASA student musicians to create a sound that is more than the sum of the parts. That's because jazz offers a unique opportunity for musicians to improvise and lend their "voice" and styles to compositions. The program is under the solid tutelage of Jazz Studies director Ponder East. Mr. East is solidly imbedded in the Austin Jazz scene, playing with various groups.
