Fernando Hernandez, Colorguard Director

LBJ Band welcomes back Fernando Hernandez as colorguard and winterguard director. Mr. Hernandez brings years of experience and a keen sense of art and design to the program. He has also worked with other Austin-area high schools that include Lake Travis, Connally, Del Valle, Travis, and Tyler High School ( in Tyler, Texas).

Mr. Hernandez has worked in the insurance industry for over 15 years. His professional experience includes advertising, communications and public relations, and graphic design for both the private and government sectors. Currently, he is finishing his bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in education at St. Edward's University in Austin.

Mr. Hernandez believes that there is no greater satisfaction than being a positive influence on today's youth. He strives to provide an environment where all of his students learn while being challenged and having fun.
